Trackwork tweaking

Following our testing the locos through the points in the opposite direction to the usual running, we needed to adjust a couple of  checkrails as Viceroy with its 3 axles was tending to fall off! So we adjusted the passing siding point as you enter from the station end, and the 3 way in the headshunt loop. We then tested them with Viceroy and Chieftain followed by a run with The Shay and all are now working well. The layby point is due for some further attention during the Winter. We also need to grind off some concrete on the tractor crossing where it is a bit high….

More progress on the new station passing loop

July 3rd saw more good progress on installing the second point and associated main line track to form the new station area. John, Peter, Andrew and Brian were pleased with the result. It only now remains to install the track sections connecting the two new points and it will be ready for us to try some reverse direction running, which should be interesting
