About

Following the closure of the Ashmanhaugh Light Railway in 2020 and the decision by some of the members to move part of the railway to Cromer in North Norfolk, it was agreed that a 750 feet circle of track, the loco shed and carriage shed reduced to 4 tracks, would remain at Ashmanhaugh and become the property of John Pond, who started the original ALR.
With the support of a small group of ex ALR members, John has created the East View Farm Railway. This is a private railway, NOT open to the public. The members of the EVFR are currently creating a new ‘passing loop’ which will contain a new station platform. Plans for a turntable are well advanced and this will allow bi-directional running, with three passing places within the circle of track.
The scale is still predominantly ‘narrow gauge’ and a selection of seven locomotives provides some very interesting running.
