Hercules was Ken Swan designed Wren class loco, the smallest loco made by Kerr Stuart usually for 2 ft gauge. There were many made full size including a fleet of 22 working on the Southend Arterial road project in the 1920’s which was close to where I used to live. A few full sized ones survive, the best known is “Peter Pan”
The Ken Swan design is a close copy of this loco and Hercules was built by the late Bob Clifton, one of many fine locomotives he built and it was completed in 2016. Hercules ran at Parklands Railway until member Brian purchased it and brought it to EVFR in 2024. Brian is busy making a suitable tender for it now.
